So close but so far – still don’t have paperless boarding

I was really impressed recently when both Qantas and Virgin sent me emails to tell me that I can use my iphone (or other mobile) as a boarding pass.

Cool, I thought.  One less thing to have to think about printing …. but When I got to the airport I found that indeed you can use your phone as a boarding pass, as long as they print a “receeipt” for you.

Which means you still get a printed boarding pass.

Ah well – one day we might move towards the paperless world.
